IBPS (Institute of Banking Personnel Selection)


IBPS stands for Institute of Banking Personnel Selection which was established on 1975 in India which was formed to train banking jobs aspirants. IBPS conducts their CWE ever year across India. The IBPS exams are for the post of Specialist Officers (SO), Probationary Officers (PO), Regional Rural and Urban banks and clerical. There are two types of exams in every IBPS exam. First is Prelims and second is Mains. After clearing the prelims exams IBPS Result you can give the main exams after that selected candidates are selected for the job.


The Governing Board:

 The Governing Board of IBPS consist nominees from the R.B.I. (Reserve Bank of India), National Institute of Bank Management, Public Sector Banks Representatives, Insurance sector, and academics. The matters indulged to the policy and affairs of the Institute come under the Governing Board.

CWE (Common Written Exams):

IBPS started their Common Written Exam (CWE) first time in 2011 for the selection of clerks & officers in twenty-nine nationalized banks and RRB’s regional rural banks in India. IBPS also offers HR services to LIC, NABARD, various insurance companies, IDBI, public sector undertakings & government of India departments. Today it is considered as one of the Best personnel selection test conducting Department in our country. The candidates are required to apply online at IBPS website and they can appear for the IBPS objective exam. Successful candidates are awarded placements in various Indian banks. Initially, the Interviews were part of the selection process but in 2016 this part has been disbursed for selection of clerks.

Recruitment through IBPS:

IBPS declare clerical, PO and SO posts in State Bank, nationalized banks and RRBs every year. Candidates who are fit in the eligibility criteria can apply online, register, pay the fees online, receive their admit card and appear for Prelim and Main common written exams (CWE) and candidates who score in IBPS PO Result , SO Result , etc., after  then they have to appear for interview for IBPS PO and IBPS SO in front of a selection panel. IBPS declare and announce dates for submitting the applications, dates for the various exam and the dates for the interview and also recruits the selected candidates.

Recruitment for PSBs is basically a 2 or 3 tier schemes. IBPS Rural Regional Banks (PO/CLERK), Specialist Officers and IBPS Clerks recruitment contains two phase process, whereas IBPS PO includes three stages. The first phase is the CWE or Common written exam which is followed by the Interview after that the final placement is done.
